My Little Pony: Escape From Catrina is a My Little Pony 'n Friends special that aired after Rescue at Midnight Castle and before My Little Pony: The Movie. It was later edited into a set of episodes for the series.
Synopsis[]
Part One[]
At Dream Castle, some of the ponies prepare for a return visit from Megan while Spike and some others are playing a ball game. Unfortunately, Earth Pony Sundance ends up wrecking some of the decorations, and Baby Pony Baby Moondancer loses the ball down the entrance to a cave. Unbeknownst to the ponies, the cave is the lair of the cat-like witch Catrina, who forces the Bushwoolies to produce witchweed potion to increase her powers. Fed up with her tyranny, the Bushwoolies express their intent to escape, despite Catrina's threats and the pleas of her kind-hearted henchman Rep.
Megan arrives at Dream Castle and meets the Baby Ponies, whom she manages to trick into taking a nap. At the same time, the Bushwoolies take advantage of Catrina's napping to shut down her witchweed machine and escape. Rep breaks the bad news to Catrina, and the two head outside in search of the Bushwoolies. However, upon spotting some of the ponies playing nearby, Catrina decides to make them her new slaves, and conjures a blizzard to trap them. However, one of the ponies, Powder, escapes and runs to get Megan and the Rainbow of Light.
Part Two[]
Alerted to the peril of her friends, Megan (with Powder and Sundance in tow) arrives with the Rainbow of Light, which breaks up Catrina's blizzard and evades her attempts to stop it. Realizing that the rainbow is an obstacle that must be dealt with, Catrina hatches a plan for Rep to steal it. Back at Dream Castle, the ponies prepare for a costume party, and Megan comforts Sundance after one of the other ponies gets angry over her previous klutziness. She then helps Baby Moondancer with a princess costume, giving her the Rainbow of Light's locket to wear.
Disguised as a pony, Rep attempts to trick Baby Moondancer out of the locket, but when he fails Catrina captures her and the two return to their lair. Searching for her, Megan and the ponies discover the Bushwoolies, who lead them to Catrina's lair. Catrina attempts to force them to serve her by threatening Baby Moondancer, but Rep-who has long lamented Catrina's wicked ways-refuses to allow her to do so. Knocked into a large drain in her lair, Catrina pleads for help, and receives it after using the last of the witchweed potion to destroy her machine. She and Rep then join the ponies at their costume party.

- The outfits worn in the dress like a dream sequence are based off of the pony wear line from the toys that you could put on your ponies. The only pony to wear an outfit that didn’t come from the pony wear line was Baby Moondancer’s princess dress.
- Megan, Posey, Heart Throb, Sundance, Lickety Split, and Spike are the only characters from this special to have another appearance.
